(Last Updated On: September 20, 2012)La Pedrera was built by the legendary architect, Antoni Gaudí between 1906 and 1912 on a commission from Pere Milà i Camps.
This building has formed part of the historical, artistic and architectural heritage of the city of Barcelona since 1962, was listed as a “Historical and Artistic Monument of National Interest” in 1969 and was declared by UNESCO in 1984 as a World Heritage Site.
CatalunyaCaixa acquired the building in 1986 and in 1996, after a thorough restoration, it was opened to the public. Between 2007 and 2008 the old coach houses were converted to accommodate special events.
La Pedrera is now open for night visits and events during the months of March to October. The spectacular Roof Terrace can be used for private cocktail events and is one of the most exclusive settings in Barcelona.
