Seaside in Colonia

Seaside in Colonia

A quick 45 minutes by fast hydrofoil across the rive Plate you will find Colonia which has a truly different culture and rhythm to Buenos Aires.

World Heritage listed by UNESCO, Colonia del Sacramento was founded by the Portuguese in the 17thCentury. The old village in the Centre of town remains untouched from the time of the Portuguese.  With its church, its coble stone roads, the ruins of its once surrounding wall, its small, local bars, where local people like to spend their afternoon. Colonia is a step back in time.

Urguay was in the 1950's a sophisticated nation. It shared the world football stage with its larger neighbour, Argentina and the legendary Carlos Gardel, the creator of the evocative tango, was a native of its capital city, Montevideo.

Experience Colonia with a full day or an overnight stay at the Four Seasons Carmelo Resort.
