Brazil is a country of huge contrasts and as a result it really does have something for everyone!
It has amazing beaches, immense rainforests, complex eco systems and lively cities full of passion for music, food, dance and sport. From the vivacious samba parades to devotion of the nation's crazy football fans, Brazil is fabulous!
Rio de Janeiro is most famous for its Carnival along with Ipanema Beach with many bikini's, beach volley ball and party atmosphere. Rio is surrounded by magnificent landscape where you can explore the mountains, the rainforest and the beach all within a short distance.
Beyond Rio you have the Amazon, Iguazu Falls, beautiful beach resorts, the wildlife of Patanal and huge the huge city of Sau Paulo.
Brazil has attracted people for centuries starting with the Portuguese in the 1500's. Brazil became a republic in 1889, but still retains the Portuguese heritage combined with the indigenous culture.
The food in Brazil is as diverse as its landscape with a combination of native of colonial influences with many different specialities around the country. Perhaps the most famous is its coffee with Brazil being one of the largest coffee producers in the world.
Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world and comprises almost half of the South American continent. It is bordered to the north, west and south by all the South American countries with the exception of Chile and Ecuador and to the east by the Atlantic. Brazil is also the largest Catholic country in the world.
