Unravel the mystique that is India

A country with over a billion people and the world's largest democracy, India is astounding with variations in landscape, climate, culture, architecture and traditions.  India awakens your senses from the bustling city of Mumbai, the colonial city New Delhi to the princely Jaipur.

The subcontinent of India is located in south Asia, between Pakistan, China and Nepal. It is bordered by the world's highest mountain chain in the north with huge valleys and the tropical south features rainforests, deserts and beaches.

India has a fascinating past and you are reminded everywhere you turn - from the architectural marvels shaped by the rampaging Mughal invaders, to the quaint charm of the princely states of Rajasthan and finally the grandeurs of colonial British India, however, it is at the Raj Ghat in Delhi that the history of modern India unfolds before your eyes.  It was here the Father of the Nation, the immortal Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his tragic assassination and this now undeniably significant site is where all Indian Prime Ministers are cremated before they set out on their journey to the next life.

Indeed, India offers an incomparable experience - full of colour, vitality, history but it is the extraordinary Indian people who provide the unforgettable instances - the same "can do" attitude, whether it be the camel cart driver on his daily delivery rounds or the call centre executive, now the face of "New India" or the budding starlet pouting and strutting for the camera in Bollywood, it is as the slogan says - Incredible India!
