Mexico is divided into six tourist regions and some of the more popular are:

The Yucatan Peninsula

The gateway to the mystical Mayan world. Here you can enjoy the world class beach resorts, pure white-sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea!  You can scuba dive along the world's second largest coral reef or experience the thrill of swimming in the cenotes, the fresh water pools in submerged limestone caverns, found all over the Yucatan.

The Pacific Coast

In this region, you'll find cities and towns with rich cultural and culinary traditions, as well as some of the best beaches for water sports like surfing and fishing.

The Baja California Peninsula

The legendary territory that has been inhabited long before European settlement!  In and around the Baja you can play golf on world-class courses, discover the underwater treasures of the Sea of Cortez, and witness the annual migration of the Humpback Whale.

Cancun

Cancun, Mexico is one of the top vacation destinations in the world and basks under year-round warm sun. This Mexican resort offers pleasure seekers water sports galore, as well vigorous entertainment that goes on till wee hours. Add excellent accommodations, gourmet restaurants, and outstanding shopping, and you've got the ultimate escape.

Cancun is on of the east coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo which is composed of many lagoons, sandbars, and mangrove swamps, and is edged with coral reefs; several islands lie off shore Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Isla Holbox, and Contoy. The fifth largest reef in the world, the Belize Reef, extends from the tip of Isla Mujeres, 250 kilometres south of the bay of Honduras. Many varieties of coral, including rare black coral found at great depths, grow in the hills and valleys of the deep reef that protects Quintana Roo.

Not everyone who travels to Cancun is a diver or snorkeler at first. Once one peeks through the "looking glass" (a diving mask) it changes everything. The Caribbean is one of the most notoriously seductive bodies of water in the world. Turquoise blue and crystal clear with perfect tepid temperature, the costal waters, protected by offshore reefs, are ideal for a languid float during hot, humid days.

Cancun is one of Mexico's most modern and popular resorts and construction is continuing south along the coast. Other naturally attractive sites south are home to modern hotels, while still more earmarked for future development. Growth includes a marina, and 18-hole golf course, and talk of another international airport. With several small landing strips already built, new roads give access to previously unknown beaches and often unseen Maya structures.
The southern coast has been called many things such as : Tulum Corridor, Playa Coast, Sunshine Coast and Riviera Maya. No matter what you call it, Mexico's Caribbean coast has become Mexico's sizzling coast, attracting travelers from all over the world.

Los Cabos  - "where the desert meets the sea".

Los Cabos

Just a 2 hour flight from Los Angeles and located on the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula, Los Cabos is one of Mexico's most breathtaking destinations. Los Cabos, which means the Capes, includes the picturesque 18th-century mission town of San Jose del Cabo to the northeast, Cabo San Lucas at the southernmost tip of the peninsula where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet, as well as the 20-mile stretch of golf courses and luxury hotels in between both towns called "El Corredor".The region's geography is diverse and beautiful, consisting of unspoiled desert landscape, white sandy beaches and dramatic rock outcroppings. "El Arco," a distinctive rock arch that sits at the tip of Land's End in Cabo San Lucas and represents the precise spot where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez, is Los Cabos' most famous geographic landmark.

As one of the country's most popular incentive destinations, the area features world-class hotel resorts and recreational facilities, including five-star hotels, impressive golf courses, charismatic marinas and exquisite restaurants. The area's location is ideal for a variety of water sports and outdoor activities including fishing, swimming, sailing, diving and surfing in Cabo San Lucas and Cabo Pulmo.

In the last few years, Los Cabos has become a major golf destination in Latin America.  The city hosts the PGA Senior Slam and has earned full recognition of its facilities in the international golf community. Its 207 holes designed by world-renown personalities like Jack Nicklaus, Roy Dye and Robert Trent II, sit in majestic green golf courses beautifully bordered by the desert and sea.

Los Cabos has long been the secret getaway for the rich and famous; regulars visitors include Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay singer Chris Martin, who enjoyed their honeymoon at Las Ventanas al Paraiso; and John Travolta, enjoyed his 50th birthday party at La Palmilla One & Only Resort, was pleasantly surprised by the huge bash that awaited him, featuring an entourage of other famous actor friends, including Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Sylvester Stallone, Meg Ryan and Quincy Jones.
